“I used the word “tahanan” for this prompt where I want to depict a young persona transitioning from their home country (Philippines) to the US. And so they enter a period of in-betweenness by setting their foot down on new ground while also carrying with them their learned identity from their home country.”

Currently hustling through a typical 8-5 p.m. work schedule while balancing my hobbies and navigating this whirlwind called life. Moving to the US has challenged a lot of my attitudes and world views. I constantly find myself cutting corners to fit into a US-centric identity.
